Use your Containers for Change

22Feb2023

Save your 10¢ containers from landfill and use them for good!

Help us create change by recycling your 10¢ containers!

Each year, a shocking 530 million 10¢ containers are put into landfill in WA. That works out to be $53 million in refunds buried right beneath us!

Containers for Change WA's helping to change this by making it easier than ever for West Australians to recycle their containers, with the choice to receive a refund or donate the 10¢ to a good cause.

We're excited to announce that we're joining this amazing initiative and will be adding their funky green bins to our centre from Friday 24 February.

How does it work?

If your container has a 10¢ mark on it, it means it can be deposited in our green Containers for Change bins.

This includes most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers such as:
  • Single-use water and fizzy drink containers
  • Single-use alcohol containers
  • Flavoured milk containers
  • Coconut water, pure fruit, or vegetable juice containers

Make sure you take off and include the lids — these are recycled separately!

The impact of your support

When you deposit your 10¢ containers into one of these cool bins, you'll help St Patricks Community Support Centre continue their epic work supporting West Australians facing homelessness.

So, think before you bin and if you can, recycle your items for good!
