Our pools + aqua facilities

Our aquatic area is located on the upper ground level, to the left of the internal street. We have a range of pools at Cockburn ARC, plus spa and sauna facilities. Each has its own features and benefits.

Please note, we are a watch around water facility.
Children eleven (11) years and under must be supervised by an adult or person over the age of sixteen (16) at all times.
Children six (6) years and under must be accompanied in the water and within arm’s reach of an adult or person over the age of sixteen (16) at all times.  

50 metre outdoor pool
Our 50 metre outdoor pool can be set up to be 9 or 10 lanes. It meets FINA standards, so that any records set in the pool will stand.

The pool is heated all year round between 26.2 and 28 degrees. 

BBQ and seating facilities are available for use by the side of the pool.

Members and casual visitors can use the pool for walking, as well as slow, fast and medium swimming at various times throughout the week.

The pool has a swim wall which means we can configure the pool in a number of ways.

Pool depth: 1.3 - 2 metres

25 metre indoor pool
The 25 metre indoor pool is located past the learn to swim pool. It meets FINA standards, so that any records set in the pool will stand.

​The pool is heated all year round to 27 and 28 degrees.

Members and casual visitors can use the pool for walking, as well as slow, fast and medium swimming at various times throughout the week.

The pool has wheelchair access.

Pool depth: 1.1 - 1.6 metres

Learn to Swim
Our Learn to Swim pool can be split into 8 zones, to allow for different classes to comfortably work alongside one another.

A mirrored roof allows our Swim ARCademy teachers to clearly see any stroke refinements required and to demonstrate clearly to our students.

​The pool is heated all year round to 33.5 degrees.

The pool is positioned near our family change facilities, and near the young children's play area.

Pool depth: 0.75 - 0.9 metres
Water Play area
Littlies who are not big enough to tackle the waterslides do not miss out at Cockburn ARC. Our water play area includes it's own slides, climbing areas and plenty of room to splash.

See if you're brave enough to be under our massive Watch Around Water bucket when it tips!

Warm Water Pool
Our warm water pool is located in our Wellness area, alongside the Spa, Sauna and Steam Room.​

The pool is heated all year round to 33.5 and 34.5 degrees.

Children under the age of sixteen (16) years are only allowed to access the warm water pool under the following conditions:
 
  • Those in Cockburn ARC approved programs in the wellness area e.g. swimming lessons and waterbubs sessions.
  • Those undertaking specific injury rehabilitation exercises that require a hot water pool. A letter from a doctor or allied health professional outlining the reasons for aquatic therapy is required to be provided to staff prior to attending Cockburn ARC to undertake the rehabilitation exercises.
  • Those with a disability that require a hot water pool. A letter from a doctor or allied health professional outlining the reasons for aquatic therapy is required to be provided to staff prior to attending Cockburn ARC to undertake the aquatic therapy. Siblings who are attending with a child who has a medical certificate as mentioned above are also able to enter the pool.

The pool has wheelchair access, and a hoist is available, however patrons must provide their own sling for hygiene reasons. Please check our website alerts on the day for availability, before coming to the centre. 

Wristbands must be worn at all times.

Lap swimming is not available in the warm water pool. Patrons are encouraged to use the 25 metre indoor pool or the 50 metre outdoor pool for lap swimming.

Spa, Sauna and Steam

Located next to our warm water pool are our spa, sauna and steam facilities.

Spa

The spa is heated between 35 and 37 degrees and has a depth of 0.9 metres.

Steam room

The steam room is heated to 40 degrees.

Sauna

Our sauna is a dry electrical sauna (not infrared) and is heated between 65 and 80 degrees. Please note temps can drop during peak periods due heavy use. 


Please note the following conditions of use:

  1. The spa pool is a heated water environment. If you are concerned that it may adversely affect your health, it is your responsibility to seek medical advice.
  2. Never put your head under the water.
  3. Children under the age of sixteen (16) are not permitted to use the spa, sauna or steam room.
  4. It's recommended that you use the spa for no longer than 15 minutes.
  5. Wristbands must be worn in this area.
  6. Pregnant women are advised not to use the spa, sauna or steam room.
  7. Hair or skin treatments, newspapers or paper products are not permitted.
  8. Please shower before entering the spa, sauna or steam room.
  9. Do not pour water on the sauna elements or rocks.
  10.  Please sit on a towel whilst in the sauna.
  11.  Do not use scented oils in the sauna or steam room.
