Get to know Laura

2May2023

We recently sat down with her to learn more about what she loves most about her job among other things!

Originally from a town in the Wheatbelt, Laura has been a Swim Instructor at the ARC for over a year now and absolutely loves helping her students grow their confidence in swimming.

When she's not in our pools teaching her students how to swim, she's learning how to become a primary school teacher.

We recently sat down with her to learn more about what she loves most about her job among other things!

Tell us a bit about yourself, Laura...

I'm originally from Narrogin, and I'm in my third year of Primary Education at Notre Dame. I love the footy, netball and Taylor Swift.

What’s your favourite thing about the ARC?

My favourite thing about the ARC is definitely the people. It makes work so much more enjoyable working within such an amazing and supportive team.

What makes the ARC different to other places?

ARC is like a community; we are all a very close group and provide ongoing support for one another which you don’t always get at every workplace.

Just for fun:

What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?

Mamma Mia- because it has great music, and it makes you want to book a summer in Greece.

What’s the best advice or saying you’ve ever heard?

Everything happens for a reason.

Read the book or watch the movie?

Watch the movie.

Be able to read minds or be able to see the future?

See the future.

Be able to play any instrument or speak any language?

Speak any language.

Eat pizza with or without pineapple?

Without pineapple.
