Tegan has been teaching at the ARC for about a year and since joining us has helped teach those of all ages, from babies to adults. She is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who loves getting the privilege of witnessing her students grow, learn and develop into strong swimmers.
We recently sat down with her and chatted about what she loves most about the ARC.
What inspired you to become a swim instructor? I’m passionate about swimming and healthy active lifestyles and saw this as the perfect way to get the chance to help those grow and develop.
What age groups do you typically work with? All age groups, I teach babies from 4 months old to adults, and all those who fall in between.
What was the best experience you’ve had teaching here at the ARC? Seeing one of my adult students go from being fearful and apprehensive of water to just the other day swimming 50m continuously. It is an amazing milestone to reach and I am honoured to be apart of it.
What is your favourite thing about the ARC? Being able to work alongside a friendly supportive team.
Do you have any pets? 2 Dogs.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard? ‘Just have fun no matter what you are doing’.
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? I would buy a farm and rescue all the dogs I could!
