Concession Card

There are a number of rules around concession cards and what we do and don't accept.

  • Remember to make a note on the account in PG!
  • Cards must be active - students must show they're current students
  • We must cite the actual card
Digital Concession Cards

In order to give a concession discount, the card must be physically present or displayed through Centrelink digital wallet.

How to view the card:

  • The card will drop down from the top of the screen. Swipe the screen up or down to display the front and the back of the card
  • If the customer has more than one concession or health care card, swipe the screen left or right to switch between cards.
  • This is what the digital card should look like:

Before accepting a digital concession card, please check:

  • That the customer is logged into the official Centrelink website or Express plus Centrelink mobile app. Not just a screen shot.
  • The card must be in date (cards will still show in their digital wallet for up to 28 days after it expires). If the concession card is no longer active, EXPIRED will appear across the screen. The customer then can reapply for a concession card.
  • If the concession is for a customer with a companion card, please ensure the names match on both cards.

We do not accept:

  • Photocopied cards
  • Photos of card
  • Screenshots of card
If a concession card isn't present for the purchase

In the instance that a concession card holder doesn't have the valid card on them. we are able to:

  • Advise that we will need to charge the full price today. To be eligible for the discount we do require the card to be valid and present/digital wallet to be shown.
Student cards that have expired (due to start of the year and no current student sticker)
We allow a grace period for University/TAFE student's who have not received their current year sticker for the back of their student card. This period is determined by the team leader however a normal term begins end of February so we will allow student entrance discount up until (normally) the beginning of March.
* Please double check with the team leader if unsure.
The card needs to be valid the previous year before to aply.
e.g. If the student is showing a card with 2018 and we have just entered 2020, this doesn't allow student discount.
VIV Cards
As a VIV Card holder, a concession rate can be applied if the holder would like to join as a member.
VIV card holders are unable to have concession discount on casual entrance into the centre.

The Cockburn ARC only allows discount for the card holder. Any "partner name, dependant" listed will not be eligible for the discount.
If they have their own card, it will need to be presented at the time of purchase.
Senior Card holders
The below card allows a concession discount for casual purchases that have concession rates. Membership holders will also be given concession rate
Companion card
We don't have a limit on how many companion's are able to access with the companion. This is not something we verbally advise however if a companion has 3 carers with him/her they are able to access with the card.

As a Volunteer card holder, a concession rate can be applied if the holder would like to join as a member.
These card holders are unable to have concession discount on casual entrance into the centre.
