Tumbler Waterslide Works

Access to Cockburn ARC via Midgegooroo Avenue will not be possible temporarily while works are undertaken on the Tumbler waterslide.

As many patrons may be aware, the Tumbler water slide was closed following complaints of poor air quality inside the bowl due to the effect of increased ambient temperature on chlorinated pool water.

The City of Cockburn has been liaising with relevant parties to begin work to improve ventilation to the popular ride.

In close consultation with the builder the City is coordinating external modifications to the slide to improve air quality, safety and comfort, plus rider experience when entering the slides bowl.

During the works to ensure the health and safety of staff, customers, members and contractors, there will be some temporary road closures and parking restrictions on Veterans Parade.

The partial road closure will be effective from 6am onwards during the works.

All patrons should access the entry to carparks via Poletti Road during this time as access from Midgegooroo Avenue will not be possible.

Signage and a traffic management teamwill be on hand to direct vehicles. The ACROD bays will not be affected.

This map below indicates where the road closures will be:

Contractors will using a crane and working at heights on the water slide structure. Works include external modifications to the tumbler bowl. To ensure the health and safety of all patrons, the City has approved a temporary road closure in the interest of public safety.

During the works vehicle access to the facility and surrounding carparks will be accessible by the Poletti Road entrance only. The entrance from Midgegooroo Ave will be closed during the works.
