Superstar Twins Lennox & Loxley

15Aug2024

From being afraid of water to masters of the pool, learn about Lennox & Loxley's swimming journey.

Meet Lennox & Loxley, Swim ARCademy’s super twins 👨🏽‍🤝‍👨🏽

Lennox and Loxley’s swimming journey began with a bit of hesitation about going underwater. Fast forward to today, and swimming has become one of their favourite activities!  Achieving the milestone of confidently going underwater is a huge accomplishment for them. 💦

Diagnosed with autism at two and a half years old, Lennox and Loxley faced significant developmental hurdles growing up. Autism affects their daily lives, but thanks to their mum Tiffany, they’ve overcome many obstacles together.

Children with autism often have a natural fascination with water, making water safety crucial for them to learn. Recognising this, Tiffany enrolled the twins in Swim ARCademy in 2021.

Swim ARCademy's Access and Inclusion Program has been instrumental in the twins' progress, giving them personalised one-on-one lessons tailored to their own pace.

Tiffany highlights how Swim ARCademy have helped the twins, explaining, ‘the support that comes with Swim ARCademy is amazing. The instructors and supervisors are excellent; they remain calm and can adjust the lesson plan if the boys aren’t feeling their best, or show more interest in something else.”

She adds, “every child with autism is unique and responds differently. SwimARCademy have been wonderful in developing strong relationships with the boys and letting them learn in their own time. We haven’t found another Swim School that offers as much as the ARC.”

Now brimming with confidence in water, the twins share what they love about swimming:

Loxley says, “I like swimming underwater in the big pool, and being silly with my instructor.”

Lennox adds, “I like going in the big pool and playing with the sinkies with my instructor.”

We can’t wait to see what other swim milestones these little superstars will achieve next! ✨
