Social Sports Cancelled from Tuesday 17 March

All social sports competitions will now be cancelled until further notice.

At Cockburn ARC, our first and upmost priority is the safety and well-being for our members and employees.

For the past several weeks, we have been closely monitoring the emerging COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation to ensure we are taking necessary precautions and actions as new information becomes available about COVID-19.

On Monday 16 March, the Western Australian Government declared a State of Emergency in response to the pandemic. Recommendations to reduce the spread of the virus included following principles of social distancing.

The ARC has been monitoring the state sporting associations decisions relating to social sporting competitions. Due to the contact nature of our sports competition it has been decided that all social sports competitions will now be cancelled until further notice. This is inline with the positions taken by Basketball WA, Netball WA and other sporting bodies who have suspended all their sanctioned activities.

This means that there will be no finals for the Summer 2020 competition. All fees for games from Tuesday 17 March and onwards will be credited towards the next season when we re-open. Team captains will receive further correspondence from the Centre in coming days to advise of options for future seasons and finals as further information becomes available .

We will contact all teams as key updates come to hand, however for further information on what the Centre has and continues to do in the response to the emerging situation, please visit https://www.cockburnarc.com.au/News-and-Events/News/Coronavirus-updates
