ARC Celebrates Fifth Birthday

26May2022

Cockburn ARC recently celebrated hitting the big five! Check out all the action that took place on the day.

On Thursday 19 May, Cockburn ARC hit a milestone as we celebrated five years of supporting the Cockburn community.

Our journey first began in 2009, when the City of Cockburn identified a need to build a high quality aquatic and recreation centre to service the rapidly growing community.

After eight years of research and planning, we opened our doors to the public in 2017. Over the five years we’ve been operating, there have been more than 5.9 million visits to our centre.

To recognise hitting the big five, we ran a morning and afternoon tea in our internal street on Thursday 19 May for our members for a gold coin donation to Cancer Council WA.

We ended up raising an incredible $1067 for Cancer Council WA, which will help them to continue their vital work, ensuring no West Australian has to face cancer alone. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us smash our fundraising goal!

Photo Competition Winner

Dee-Anne with Terry and Rachel

We're delighted to share that Dee-Anne is the lucky winner of our Photo Competition, taking home a FREE 12 month membership.

Congratulations, Dee-Anne, and we hope you enjoy your free membership. Thank you to everyone who entered the competition - we thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your special photos and messages!

Thank you for your support

It’s unbelievable to think that we’re now over five years old. We wouldn’t have got here without the continued support of our awesome members, dedicated staff and partners, Fremantle Dockers Football Club and Curtin University.

So, from the bottom of our hearts – thank you for choosing to be a part of our ARC Family. We can’t wait to see what we achieve together in another five years!
