Meet Michael, a Cockburn ARC member

Cockburn ARC Cockburn ARC
16 January, 2018

What motivated me to go on this journey was simply that I had a bit of a health scare but ultimately I found myself being a straight out couch potato. Unable to keep up with the kids and really just not enjoying myself to my fullest. So with that in mind I knew I had to get up and do something about it and the best option for me was to come down here to the ARC, hit the gym and work it out from there.

One of my most favourite things about the ARC is that with the great guidance from the team that you have at the ARC, is simply there’s no real pressure, whether it’s building yourself up or simply just trying to get yourself fit, there’s no pressure. And my most favourite thing about it all is when you’re done with the gym and everything, as hard as it’s been, it’s a great reward to just sit back in the sauna knowing that you can sit in  that heated pool. Ultimately there’s just great people around, so no pressure whatsoever to do what you gotta do.

I'm living proof that as a couch potato... you can do this

I’d like to say to anybody who’s out there sitting on the couch especially if they’re thinking they’re unable to do this themselves, I think I’m a bit of a living proof that a couch potato, or however you like to see yourself right now, that you can do this. There is a tiger inside you ready to come out. The hardest part is just getting down here, once you have done that, you have a great team around you, and trust me the results will come and you will see them.

My name is Michael, I’m a father, I’m a yardie and I am a member of Cockburn ARC.
