Member Communications - Phase 3


We'd like to tell you about what is happening with Phase 3 of restrictions.

We are back! From Saturday 6 June, Western Australia will move into Phase 3 of restrictions, which we’re so pleased to say, means we are able to open up more of the ARC for our valued members.

From Saturday 6 June the following services will be available to you (depending on your membership):
  • Gym
  • Pools
  • Spa, sauna, steam (Steam room from Tuesday 8 June)
  • All group fitness studios
  • Aqua fitness
  • Créche (Book here opens in a new window)
  • Stadium for casual shooting
  • Change rooms
There is a restriction of 100 people (excluding staff) per zone, which is a substantial increase on the 20 patrons of Phase 2.

We know many of you can’t wait to get back, and we can’t wait to see you!

But if you just aren’t feeling comfortable yet, we’d like to let you know your options too, and also assure you about everything we’re doing to keep the ARC safe.

1. We’re easing in slowly with your membership fees

Your membership will be activated on 6 June, providing you the full member benefits you enjoyed prior to our closure. This means you no longer have to pay per visit.

We are doing everything we can to support our members and families during this time, so have decided to enable members to access the Centre, without payment for an initial period. This means all members will be given complimentary access for 20 days, to get settled back in before direct debits commence on Thursday 25 June.

Dust off the cobwebs, and start getting back into your routine. We think this also gives you a chance to get used to some of the new protocols that we have in place and lets us make any changes that we need to.

2. We’re putting your safety as our number one priority.

Rest assured, we’re applying the Covid-19 restrictions strictly.  We have increased our cleaning protocols throughout the centre, we’ve put in place sanitisation plans for every piece of equipment, and have trained every staff member in the centre.  We’ll also ensure that you have access to the cleaning products you need to wipe down equipment, plus you will have access to multiple sanitisation stations throughout the centre.

3. We’re keeping it as familiar for you as we can.

You will be able to access the gym and pools as you have always done through your swipe access and while you will still need to book into group fitness classes, we have opened the booking window to 12 hours in advance.

While we’re pleased to bring back sauna, spa and steam, please share the facility with your fellow members as capacity for each individual service is a maximum of 6 people, with 15 minutes maximum.

You will see some changes on our group fitness timetable, but we will endeavour as much as possible to provide your favourite classes and times.

4. We will review ongoing and make changes as we need to.

We will look at how we’re going each day and see if there are improvements or tweaks that we need to make.

And what do we need you to do?
  • Work with us and the other members to ensure that everyone has a great experience.
  • Follow the instructions given by our team, and practice social distancing.
  • Bring a towel every time you come to the gym and show it to the Customer Service Officer as you pass reception.
  • Be patient! In the unlikely event that we reach capacity for any one zone we may ask you to wait until space is available.
And if you don’t wish to come back this soon?
We are offering all members the ability to suspend for any period of time up until December 31 2020. But you do need to let us know by filling in this online form opens in a new window.

While we'd hate to see you go, if you do decide to cancel, the usual terms and conditions do apply.

What will your opening hours be?
Monday – Friday 
5:30am – 8.30pm (aquatics)
5:30am – 9pm (gym)

7am – 6pm

Will 24/7 access be available?
Not quite yet, however we do hope to resume 24/7 access for our members soon.

Will the change rooms be open?
Yes! Phase 3 restrictions allow us to once again allow full use of the change room, including lockers. No more cold dashes to the car.

Will the group fitness timetable be the same as before closure?
It will be an amended timetable, so that we can meet the capacity restrictions of Phase 3, but we will do our best to make sure your most favourite classes are included at the times that you would like them. But be prepared that they may start a little earlier or later than previously.

What if I want to continue just to pay as I go?
That's fine. You can suspend your membership and then register as a casual active member and pay per attendance under the casual terms and conditions.

What restrictions will be around the sauna, spa and steam?
We will only allow 6 people at any one time in each of the sauna, spa and steam (18 across all three). We also ask that if other people are waiting, that you limit your time to 15 minutes.

Will I need to book in to a session to attend?
While this is subject to change, at this stage we will operate the way that our members are familiar with. You will need to book into group fitness as normal and attend the pools and gym as you wish.

How much notice do I need to provide if I wish to cancel?
In line with our terms and conditions, you will need to provide 28 days notice if you wish to cancel.

What happens if I do not bring a towel to my gym session?
We will be strictly enforcing a “No towel, no train”. As you enter the gym you must show your towel to the Customer Service Officer as you pass reception.
